Here at Kingswood we offer a variety of opportunities to help you increase and maintain your vitality through programs offered by our Active Living Department. Our Exercise Physiologist, Ray Gilliland, is available to help you with determining what program would be best for you.

Wellness Center

lifting weights with a trainer The wellness Center is an up-to-date fitness center designed to meet each persons individual needs. We offer cardiovascular equipment to help you increase and maintain your endurance. We also offer a weight machine and hand weights, which focus on increasing and maintaining muscle strength. An exercise physiologist is available for fitness counseling and to help you design a program that fits your needs.

P.A.C.E.

If you are just starting exercise for the first time, or you haven't exercised in a long time this class is for you. This class, designed by the Arthritis Foundation promotes joint flexibility, muscle strength and coordination through a variety of very easy, slow movement exercises.

Balance Class

Fall Prevention is the primary focus of this class. Various exercises and an obstacle course are introduced to help improve your flexibility and responses to a variety of surfaces in a fun environment. The class is designed to challenge you physically and focus on dynamic and static balance skills.

Aerobic Exercise Classes

A low impact exercise class, which combines aerobic conditioning, strength training, and flexibility exercises. This class is designed to increase your overall fitness in a fun, safe environment.

Osteofit

Strength training and stretching have been shown to decrease the onset of Osteoporosis. The first part of the class time utilizes light hand weights to perform a variety of exercises while the second half is dedicated to stretching.

T'ai Chi

T'aiChi is one of the internal Chinese arts that use slow graceful movements to promote balance, strength, circulation and mobility.

Aqua Exercise Class

Great for people of all fitness levels. This workout is ideal for strength gain, cardiovascular conditioning and improved flexibility.
