Rather than just rely on our excellent reputation to assure residents and families
of our excellence in all of its operations and customer service, Kingswood opted
to seek accreditation with two national groups – The Continuing Care Accreditation
Commission (CCAC) of the American Homes and Services for the Aging (AASHA) – and,
the EAGLE accreditation program of The United Methodist Association (EAGLE stands
for Educational Assessment Guidelines Leading toward Excellence).
Accreditation demands that Kingswood meet standards of excellence in four critical
areas – resident life, health and wellness, financial resources & disclosure, and
administration.
Kingswood first received dual accreditation in 1996 and is one of only two communities west of the Mississippi to hold such an honor. In 2001, Kingswood elected to undergo 6-months of rigorous re-accreditation and is currently accredited by both organizations.
Kingswood has a committee of the Board of Directors named the Quality First Committee dedicated to this very significant issue of quality. This committee is made up of Board Members, Resdients and Staff that works in conjunction with AASHA guidelines. Quality First is committed to the fact that quality is not just a slogan or a committee at Kingswood… it is a covenant – it is our promise to you!
